The Yurok Tribe Fisheries Department, Design and Technical Services Program (YT TSP) was tasked by the United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) Trinity River Restoration Program (TRRP) to document as-built conditions at the Oregon Gulch rehabilitation project site. The site is located on Sky Ranch Road approximately a half mile east of Highway 299. The project consisted of two phases with a goal to increase juvenile salmonid rearing habitat and enhance channel complexity in the Trinity River. Phase one involved the processing and removal of old mine tailings while phase two included in-channel work and floodplain restoration. As-built documentation consisted of detailed topographic surveys of the river channel and channel margins as well as constructed floodplains, backwaters and gravel bars. Data were collected for the purpose of developing a detailed digital terrain model (DTM) to document and support project monitoring.

This report summarizes the data collection techniques and procedures as well as the processing and data integration methodologies used to develop the terrain model.

Actual NVA accuracy was found to be RMSEV = 0.14 ft. This data set contains airborne LiDAR, RTK and single beam sonar, in addition to supplemental multibeam sonar and sweep sonar data derived from the 2022 Trinity River Focal Reach Digital Terrain Model (DTM). The 2023 Oregon Gulch As-Built Technical Survey Report documents data collection methods, processing, and data integration methods. In addition, the report includes a discussion of supplemental data utilized, terrain accuracy, and data deliverables. Note that previously acquired data from the 2022 Trinity River Focal Reach DTM was not tested as part of this project.
