This study compiles information relevant to the revegetation and restoration of landslides,riparian areas and eroded or derelict land located within the Trinity River watershed, California. Plantmaterials are listed with consideration for species selection, stock development and the use of nativeplant species for watershed restoration and fish and wildlife habitat improvement. Plant species aregrouped according to their environmental preferences using moisture and temperature indexesalong with information on each species range in elevation, geology, and plant community. A plantselection key is provided to aid in the selection of species that are appropriate for the vegetationof various habitats. Information is also given on species cultural requirements and suitability forerosion control. Government and private sources of plant materials and other related supplies andservices are provided along with information that will assist in the planning of large scale revegetationprojects. The reader should note that, due to the quantity of data available, this report may not becomplete in certain aspects and was designed to be updated periodically as new information andmaterials become available. The purpose of the report is to supply information to persons interestedin watershed and wildlife habitat improvement and does not intend to endorse any specific methods,philosophy or vendors.
