U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (1980) Environmental Impact Statement on the Management of River Flows to Mitigate the Loss of the Anadromous Fishery of the Trinity River, California. Available: https://www.trrp.net/library/document?id=1413.

The U.S. Department of the Interior proposes to increase flows on the Trinity River in northern California for the purpose of protecting and restoring chinook salmon and steelhead trout populations. Increasing flows for fishery conservation purposes would reduce economic benefits associated with agricultural irrigation and hydroelectric power generation; increase economic benefits associated with commercial, sport and Indian harvest of fish; enhance water quality on the Trinity; reduce capability for meeting water quality standards in the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta; and enhance water-dependent recreational opportunities on the Trinity. This report summarizes the DOI's proposal and the effects it would have.
