Pryor, C. 2017. 2016 Trinity River focal reach survey report. Report for the Trinity River Restoration Program (TRRP) under U.S. Bureau of Reclamation contract R14PC00122. GMA Hydrology, Arcata, California. Available: www.trrp.net/library/document?id=2389.
"In May 2016, GMA Hydrology, Inc. (GMA) was tasked by the USBR Trinity River Restoration Program (TRRP) with updating the Trinity River Focal Reach Terrain Model. The Trinity River Focal Reach is the 42-mile stretch between Lewiston Dam and the confluence of the North Fork of the Trinity River in which the TRRP focuses much of its restoration activities. Updates to the Focal Reach terrain model consisted of detailed topographic surveys of the river channel and channel margins, gravel bars, backwaters, floodplains, and several of the constructed side channels. Topographic surveys included collection of LiDAR, sonar, conventional, and structure from motion survey data. The survey data were collected for the purpose of developing a detailed digital terrain model to document existing conditions well as to support a variety of hydraulic and biological modeling efforts.
"This report summarizes the data collection techniques and procedures as well as the processing
and data integration methodologies used to develop the terrain model."
