Channel Rehabilitation Site: Upper Douglas City (2015)

In May 2013, U.S. Department of the Interior (USDI), Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), in coordination with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), a federal land manager at the Upper Douglas City site and federal co-lead for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review, and the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Water Board), the California state lead agency, analyzed the potential impacts of the activities for the Douglas City Rehabilitation Site project according to NEPA and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines.  A Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the project was signed May 24, 2013.

The upper portion of the project, upstream of the Douglas City Bridge, was constructed in 2015.  The purpose of the project was increase and enhance juvenile salmonid rearing habitat, restore physical and hydraulic processes, and restore more function riparian habitat.
